On like a pot of neck bones.
We didn’t really have a script for the first commercial. As you can see in the behind-the-scenes footage, we were figuring it out as we went.
Around that time, I was listening to some rappers who were probably pretty obscure for a white dude like me. One of them was Willie D of the Geto Boys. I loved a line from his song “Clean Up Man”: “Once I get your girl alone, it’s on like a pot of neck bones.”
That line stuck with me, and “On like a pot of neck bones” became the catchphrase for the first Mo’ Money commercial.
Rare behind-the-scenes footage from the first commercial.

Photos and moments from along the way.
Words that stuck.
