ONCE AGAIN… IT’S ON!
Spoken
“Y’all remember that motherfucker from them Mo Money commercials?” “Whatever happened to him?” Shit… y’all looking at him. Johnny C. BMF. Thought I fell off ’cause you quit seeing me?
Beat drops
Verse 1
Just Beepers, cloned phones—yeah, that shit wasn’t legal, Wasn’t sitting on a fortune, I was helping my people. Toy Store Auto, built the sites, new cars up every week, Had ’em shopping for that next ride without leaving their seat.
Then Mo Money had my face all up on your TV, Seventeen states, tax time, couldn’t get away from me. Icy K and D-Rob—y’all know who I’m talking ’bout, “Where EU? Where Johnny C?” What the fuck y’all thought?
Mo Money caught hell, now they looking at me, Like every fucking dollar came home with Johnny C. At the airport, bags packed, ’bout to catch my flight— “Where you going with them people money?” Get the fuck on. Catching flights to clock mine—y’all got this shit wrong.
Saw my face so fucking much, figured I was running that, Face on the screen, so you figured I owned the shit, I was just the pretty motherfucker they put in it.
Hook
“Whatever happened to Mo Money?” Bitch, I’m right here. Same motherfucker— Let me make that shit clear. Quit seeing me on TV, thought the money quit too? Got my own shit going—who the fuck told you? Johnny C, BMF, you already know, Still that motherfucker everywhere I go.
Shouted
ONCE AGAIN… IT’S ON!
Verse 2
Put my own bread up, brought them Mo Money cameras back, Flew to ATL—what the fuck was that? Told ’em, “Fire his ass”—ain’t nobody buying that, Fuck who did what—we ain’t here to hear all that.
Ran it back in Memphis, D-Rob ain’t even show, He knew that shit was fucked—what the fuck he coming for? “Who came up with that shit?” Motherfucker, come see. Fuck the sob story—put the camera on Johnny C.
I said, “Give me the pen, get the fuck out my way, Let me run this motherfucker, we could make this shit pay.” Now it’s sitting on a shelf. Ain’t that shit funny? A whole lotta money just to make no money.
Verse 3
Had my own shit due, still got your ass straight, Now you counting my pockets? Get the fuck out my face. You ain’t ask what I had when you called needing help, Now you got a fucking problem ’cause I spend it on myself? Made enough to move how the fuck I please, Ain’t checking with a soul ’fore I grab my keys. “Whatever happened to Mo Money?” Shit, come see— Still that motherfucker. You remember me.

Behind the Song
After I sent “I Am That Motherfucker” to my Memphis people, the Mo Money crew wanted to know how I’d left that part of my life out.
Fair question. For years, you couldn’t get through tax season without seeing my face on TV. Seventeen states, those crazy commercials, and me hollering, “Once again… it’s on!”
But there was history before the TV days. At Just Beepers, I cloned phones—yeah, that was illegal. For Toy Store Auto Sales, I built their websites and put their cars online every week. Those businesses came before the Mo Money commercials. I was helping people while I was just as broke as they were.
Markey—the original Icy K—and his cousin started Mo Money Taxes back in the ’90s. I helped them get started with the computers and networks. Then we started writing commercials and saturating the local Memphis market.
Next thing you knew, we were everywhere. My face and my voice became the face and voice of the franchise. That’s how a guy helping with computers ended up being the one everybody recognized.
People knew the face. Plenty figured I owned the whole thing. I was the pretty motherfucker they put in the commercials.
This song picks up some of those stories—and the question people still ask: “Whatever happened to Mo Money?”
It also gets into the attempt to bring the cameras back. I put my own money into that project because I thought we had entertaining stories worth telling: how we came up with that stuff, what happened behind the scenes, and the people who made it memorable. That project is still sitting on a shelf.
So I put some of what I wanted to say into this song.
The voice, the attitude, that opening shout—it had to sound like the guy people remembered.
Once again… it’s on.
